A children’s YouTube project I created to explore scalable, repeatable animation and audience engagement.

Exploring simple and efficient production systems, it allowed me to iterate quickly and produce consistent, high-volume content. Creating 15 animations over 6 months.

Building a Reusable Animation System

To keep things manageable, I started experimenting with a simple character rig that I could reuse across multiple animations.

I built a small set of looping movements and applied them across different characters, which meant I could swap designs without starting from scratch each time.

It was straightforward, but worked really well, allowing me to move quickly, animate lots of characters, stay consistent and focus more on timing and engagement as I learned what worked.

Audio-Driven Character Animation

I also experimented with an audio-driven rig that linked mouth, eyes and head movement to sound-based keyframes.

This meant I could record audio, like "CLUCKS, "BAAS" and other sounds, to quickly turn that into character animation.

A simple approach, but a really effective way to speed up production and keep things feeling lively.

Automated animation rig, triggered by sound input

Using this system, I was able to create a range of loopable character animations cross many videos efficiently & consistently.

More examples and breakdowns coming soon.
